Plot

Jack Nicholson plays Jack Torrance, a schoolteacher working at the isolated Overlook Hotel as off-season caretaker with his wife and son. As the Torrances settle in for the long, lonely months ahead, some strange, unexplainable things start happening. Danny (Danny Lloyd), the son, begins to see disturbing visions of the hotel's past using a telepathic gift known as The Shining; and Jack, haunted by the demons of the hotel, grows a little more evil and dangerous every day.
