Plot

A vicious psychopath is murdering women throughout the Midwest, skinning them and dumping their bodies. Young FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) is assigned to the case, and is sent to gain insight into the mind of a psychopath by interviewing another psychopathic prisoner. This prisoner is Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), a once respected psychiatrist, now a demented (although still brilliant) cannibal. FBI agent Jack Crawford (Scott Glenn ) believes that Lecter may have the answers to their questions to help locate the killer. Lecter agrees to help Starling - but only if she'll feed his morbid curiosity with details of her own complicated life.
