Plot

Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun Fat), a great warrior decides to turn in his sword, the Green Destiny to a treasured friend. However, when the sword is stolen, it's up to him and the un-conceded love of his life, Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh) to retrieve it. During this time, they are introduced to Jiao Long (Zhang Ziyi), a young aristocrat who is preparing for an arranged marriage. However, her superior fighting talents and deeply romantic past are revealed, and soon each warrior comes face to face with their worst enemy - and the inescapable, enduring power of love.
