Plot

In the near future, a computer hacker named Neo (Keanu Reeves) discovers from Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) that the world around him is a computer simulation called the Matrix. The Matrix was created by a malevolent cyber-intelligence to placate us whilst our life essence is 'farmed' to fuel the Matrix's campaign of domination in the 'real' world. Morpheus has been searching his entire life for a 'chosen one' to destroy the Matrix, and he believes Neo is it. Neo joins other like-minded Rebel warriors, including Trinity (Carrie Ann Moss), in their struggle to overthrow the Matrix.
